Kyohei Inukai, American (1913 - 1985)
Born in Chicago, 1913, he
attended Chicago Art Institute, National Academy of Design, and Art Student's
League in New York.
For over four decades Kyohei Inukai has created his own brand
of illusionary art. Distinctively fine edges and careful tonal variations have
always characterized much of his painting and print making.
His ability to bend and shape forms is deceptively 3-D to the
viewing eye. Much of his work is styled similar to modern architectural design,
which accounts for the large number of major U.S. corporations which own his
work. lnukai is also a noted sculptor dealing primarily in steel and aluminum.
He has been commissioned for many large scale projects including Riverside Mall
in Chicago and Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, N.J.
